Tag Along

These journeys are not specifically planned departures. Instead they have been conceived by veteran Himalayan trekkers who based on their prior experience have formulated a program and are looking for individuals to join to form small groups. People without any prior Himalayan experience, but in good physical and mental condition, may join any of these trips.

* Ultimate Manaslu Trek (April/May 2010)

Richard Lainhart and Marissa Bedford are planning an extended (42 days +) trek around Manaslu visiting the Tsum and Nar-Phu valleys and ending with a crossing of the Thorung La (you may opt not to cross the Thorung La and walk down to Besi-Sahar). You may join them on either the whole or part of the trip (Manaslu and Tsum valley or Nar-Phu valley).

* The Crystal Mountain Trek: Upper Dolpo (September 2010)

Crystal Mountain's platinum clients, John Balha and Jim Belanger, are planning another trip (we've lost count) to Nepal. This time to Upper Dolpo and the Crystal Mountain area (the inspiration for our company's name). The trip will be similar to the Sierra Club's Dolpo Trek to be lead by Cheryl Parkins in April 2010. In 2010, Crystal Mountain Treks will donate $ 1,000 for a new clinic in the area. Limited to 10 participants.

* Kanshung Glacier Trek (September 2010)

Claudine Weatherford, another Crystal Mountain platinum client, is planning a trek to the Kanshung Glacier of Everest in Tibet. The trek will start in Lhasa and will also visit Rongbuk and the North Base Camp of Everest. Itinerary will be similar to our 2008 itinerary.
